Drayton features in the Domesday Book and the first. mention of the church is in the 10th century. The Sundial is in the churchyard and the mottos on the dialplate are: Time is short, eternity is long and While you have time, do good while there is a bronze collar on the stone pedestal with this inscription: In memory of SP born AD1806 died AD1885. This dial was restored AD1900
